This is not the advertisement i do for Celcom, i just want to share my experience to all of you..Long story ahead, spend some time to read it and ignore the grammartical mistake part:p
FYI, i been stealing my neighbour wifi for more than 1 year. Initially i got the dial-up connection in my home but i cancel it after i went to MMU 4 years ago@@~
SO, after 6 months from graduation, finally i make up my mind to to subscribe the broadband service as i always heard people say "Streamyx sucks"@@~ Initially was plan to go for P1 Wimax but there is not coverage in my area yet. SO i decide to go for Celcom Broadband which i heard people say they have the wide coverage in whole Malaysia.
FYI again, Celcom is under Telekom and fixed line having the most stable connection eventhough it was slow but it won't easily get disconnected like broadband. So, for those people who playing online game is not encourage to go for broadband.*wow!when i become so knowledgable huh?because i read those from online article and forums:p
Since the pc fair is going to held in JB, so i set up my mind to go for Celcom this time. Maybe u will ask how about other company like Maxis, Digi, Jaring and etc? Maxis have sucks connection that you can research online. Digi was only having 2G coverage in my area and i totally can't find Jaring wireless in my area. Izzi?It was not available in Johor area at all@@~~P1 Wimax?i explain it at the previous paragraph already:p
After bought it without contract basic i get the modem at RM399 with a free lousy China speaker+woofer that kind+one month online for free+1G memory stick inside the modem.*Original price was RM499 and it looked exactly same like the photo below.
Note: The date i bought was on 20th December 2008
What i read online the service can be activate within 24-48 hours mostly on 22nd December 2008 as what the PC fair promoter told me too. On 23rd December 2008 i still get the message like this :
"You can't connect before register an available network"
SO, i call to the Celcom customer service careline at 1300-111-000 for the 2nd time.*the first time they say my account still haven't activate on 22nd December,and ask me wait patiently!! They told me i have to wait for 3-5 working days to activate my account if i purchase during PC fair. *I get so angry as before this they never told me is 3-5 working days!! FYI again and again, Christmas and weekend is around the corner that time so you can imagine how long i wait for it@@~~~~~
For the 3rd time i call to the Celcom customer service careline again on 31st December 2008, they told me my account is still not been activate and my information just key in yesterday! From 20th December to 30th December for the bloody 10 days i wait for but i still can't the use the broadband!@@~ and they advise me i have to go to the Celcom center myself to activate my account.*WTH!
FINALLY, i got my connection as i went to Celcom center this morning and they told me the service has been activate@@~ Total in 12 days after i purchase my modem, on the 1st of January 2009 i finally get connected to the network with the speed below:
I assume this is fast as i subscribe D98 for 3.6mpbs per month@@~*i paying RM98 per month for it!
Get your lesson, please do not subscribe Celcom broadband eventhough they giving out promotion price during PC fair. Else, you don't mind to wait for so long and wasting so much money and time call to the Celcom Customer careline to solve for your problem. Maybe my case was special because most of the Celcom Broadband they sell during PC fair are from dealer not Celcom themselves@@~

dont go for contract.
go for the whole damn package, which include the actual device's price.
i know is a bit expensive, but that is good thing.
u can freely terminate ur celcom broadband anytime, then change to wat eva broadband available there. =), using the same device.
and btw, digi's data plan have constant speed and signal.
try it. =)
ya..i din go for the contract based one..i bought the modem and i can use it if i change to other broadband service that available here...but i wonder..now many company provide the modem while subscribe with them..the modem i bought seem a bit "extra" here:p
In conclusion, any service related to telekom sucks big time..XD

Mouthy use is limit to 4GB, Celcom Broadband salesman try to hiding this to me. Now I need to cancer this suck.

over here you can see that there is a limit of 5gb download quota for every month of each package, which means... no p2p downloading XD
There is only 1 word i can say abt Celcom,,,, SUCKS,,,,
First 7-days (Trial period) everything was jes perfect;
speed go up to 1.4bmps
Come the 8th day, speed reduced to 50-60kbps, always disconnected, hard to log on.
Surprise? Yes,,, bcoz im staying in the same house, same room, same table at the same corner...
in short,,,, Celcom SUCKS,,,
I wish I had read this blog earlier. I just bought the E156G Huawei modem and subscribe to celcom D68 package (without) contract at Pikom PC Fair Jul 2009 on Friday for RM250. Then went home and try, cannot connect. Call retailer, say need 24 hrs. After 24 hrs, still not working, call retailer, said Celcom system down, unable to register. Wait till next morning,call again, said too many ppl register and celcom service center closed. Have to wait until Monday! Obviously, Celcom didn't learn from previous experience!!
